Disclosure of Personal Information
In accordance with the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ascend Cloud Solutions has a duty to disclose any personal information held on its systems, both electronic and paper based, belonging to individuals.
Upon written request, Ascend Cloud Solutions will disclose to the authorised individual all information held by Ascend Cloud Solutions on that individual. Each individual retains the right to make corrections to any incorrect data held on them by Ascend Cloud Solutions.
The exception to this policy is where information is covered by journalistic exemption, or the information requested is being used in pursuit of criminal or civil case and Ascend Cloud Solutions is legally obligated to not reveal such information.
All requests for personal information coming from an individual must be forwarded to Ascend Cloud Solutions’ via the info@ascendcloudsolutions.com email, where your query will directed to the correct person.
Handling and Protection of Personally Identifiable Information
In general, Ascend Cloud Solutions will collect, process, store, transmit, and disseminate only that personal information which is necessary for the proper functioning of its business. This information will be retained only for as long as necessary.
The collection of personal information about potential customers and others with whom Ascend Cloud Solutions does business is to be expected. However, Ascend Cloud Solutions must not collect personal information from individuals without having first obtained their knowledge and consent for the manner in which that personal information will be used.
Ascend Cloud Solutions customers will be given an opportunity to inform Ascend Cloud Solutions that they do not wish to be contacted via unsolicited direct mail, telemarketing, and related promotions. Ascend Cloud Solutions staff must faithfully observe and act on these requests.
Ascend Cloud Solutions respects the rights of individuals to block data about them from being included in mailing lists or calling lists, block the sale of data about them to third parties, and to have data about them erased from direct marketing lists.
Development Using Private Information
Ascend Cloud Solutions will ensure that the development, or acquirement, of all systems which will process personal data will do so in accordance with the requirements of this privacy and protection of PII policy and other related policy.
Privacy Impact Analysis
Where possible a Privacy Impact Analysis will be conducted to ensure any systems that are developed or acquired by Ascend Cloud Solutions do not impact adversely on the privacy of individuals’ personal data entrusted to Ascend Cloud Solutions.
Destruction of Private Information
When private information is no longer needed, it must be destroyed securely by shredding or other approved destruction methods. Destruction of private information resident on computer disks and other magnetic media must be accomplished with a secure overwriting process or full disk format.
Testing with Sanitised Data
All software testing for systems designed to handle private data must be accomplished exclusively with "sanitised" production information. Sanitised information is production information which no longer contains specific details that might be valuable, critical, sensitive, or private.
International Data Transfers
Personal Information that is entrusted to Ascend Cloud Solutions with may from time to time be stored, processed, and transferred to countries outside of the European Union and the European Economic Area. Should this need arise Ascend Cloud Solutions will ensure the correct legal, contractual, and technical safeguards are in place to ensure the privacy of that information in line with the requirements and obligations of Ascend Cloud Solutions.
Data Retention
Personal information that Ascend Cloud Solutions processes for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary.
